A Month of Fun: September

9/11: Patriot Day
Fun printable and history on Patriot Day!
Why would I write up something with great resources like this on the web? 🙂
Talk with your kids about what it means to be a Patriot. (A person who supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors. Another great word is: HERO) Talk with your child what it means to be a Hero. Who are some Heros in your life? Pray together and thank God for the Heros who fought on 9/11 and for the Heros in your life today. Let’s never forget.
9/16: Stepfamily Day
** SHOUT OUT ** to the best Step parent I know. My sister Christy! Christy you inspire me as a Mother and in your love as a Step-Mother. I hope someday you write a book to encourage other parents who get the privilege and overwhelming responsibility of being step-parents. Your unconditional love for Josh and Lauren is evident to anyone you talk to. Your love for your step kids goes beyond “loving them as your own”. Thank you for loving them and setting such an incredible example for other parents!
Today is a great opportunity to talk about how God made families! Here are some fun lesson ideas for Preschool- Elementary age kids. Click HERE or HERE
Have a family picnic
pop popcorn and laugh together while you watch the Brady Bunch
Make up your own version of the game THINGS.
Go around the room and come up with “things” unique to each person in the family! This is a fun way to celebrate the traits and qualities unique to each person in your family. For example: My son is notorious for putting random things on his head and calling them “hats”. I would write “Things Aaron puts on his head…” 😉 Click here for a full description of the game THINGS
Did you know
