My dentist explained that as we get older our bottom teeth can begin to crowd together. My Dr has warned that my posture can decline with age. At the age of 30, I visited a dermatologist for the first time. Why is this significant? In Florida that would make me a “late bloomer” for getting my skin checked for sun damage and skin cancer growth.
Every day we age.
There comes a time when our mouths tighten, stance weakens, and skin bears the damage of life’s adventures.
As we age, consider the words that come from your mouth. [Or rather what you type.] It is all an overflow of what’s going on inside. Are you letting yourself become crowded with thoughts that narrow your bite? Crowding your mind and mouth with negative notions or pessimistic wishes for the past? Narrowing your ideas to gratify your needs only today? Like spiritual retainers, how can you realign your mind and mouth to avoid the negative crowding?
What about your stance? Are you still standing tall? Standing up for others- respecting differences? Even the differences of conservatives and liberals? Or cowering to compromise, leaning into comfort? How can you keep your perspective up and stand grounded in faith & hope?
What stories do you want your scars and freckles to tell?
I never new what a freckle was when I was a kid because my mom said they were beauty marks. I want to live a life of adventure that leaves marks of beauty- not damage. What about you?
Take care of yourself today.
We all are aging.
We all only live for a moment in time.
Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
