being “Mommy” is what I do

sleepless nights
mosquito bites
53 hairs gone gray

baby cries
dinner’s fried
middle one wants to play

photo 1-1lego toes
mounds of clothes
marbles rolled away

 but to change a thing
would be obscene
a Mommy I will stay

– – – –

spit up pants
potty training dance
petrified cheerios

late night math
forgot their baths
how many times did I say “no”?

tights and tutus
kissing scrapes and booboos
no time to use the loo

photo 4-6even with no sleep
no greater treasure do I keep
being “Mommy” is what I do

– – – –

all stretch marked
dogs that bark
hair in disarray

mini lawyers
broken dryers
dishes in decay

7 days of pony tails
shopping toddler wails
but again I have to say

there’s always more
joy in store
in our house every day

So to change a thing
would be obscene
a Mommy I will stay  🙂
